Tortoise Shell Cabinet Knob
XV·WF·N043
A gently domed oval tortoise shell becomes a palm-sized knob. Five broad scute fields are suggested by shallow hand-chased boundaries that soften before reaching the rounded rim. The head and limbs appear only as close, blunt changes of contour beneath the shell edge. A short hidden rear neck lifts the domed grip away from the cabinet, preserving a clear and uncomplicated outline. Five broad chased scute fields carry restrained brown patina in their shallow boundaries.
